The Winter Solstice at the Sullivan Gallery

In spite of the opening postponement because of the snow storm, the new date was conjunct the Winter Solstice.  It was magical to be with a perfectly hung show atop a steep hill overlooking the Hudson, and watch the shortest day of the year slowly ebb into night. The warm gallery lights with the darkening sky seemed just right.  Light is everything.

One of the more satisfying feelings for me is to see the work out in the world.  It is the time to think about it separate from myself, without the familiarity of the studio where it was born and nurtured.  Okay, kiddo, how are you doing now that you’re out there on your own?

The show will be on view until February 16, 2014.

The Elizabeth V. Sullivan Gallery is open:

Wed – Sat: 10AM – 4PM,  Sun: 10AM – 2PM  For more information call 845-359-1263
