Life on the land is serene. The Homestead is in a conjunction of remarkable forces. Soon the studio will be complete. The Eager Vine is a duo of Clematis and Trumpet Vine who have joined forces to take over my porch. They have encased one chair and are advancing on the second.

Deep in Summer
It was early morning and the first light when I shot this yesterday. The air is still, only the sound of the birds who have been calling since 4:15 when the first one tunes up. The work progresses and deep in summer now, unpacking the house is finally in full swing.
Home
The end of a beautiful day in the Hudson Valley. Summer on the Homestead is without compare. Work on the studio renovation is about to begin and I am unpacking and settling in. It will take months, maybe a year before everything is in place but all worth the effort. Two days ago, Billy and I surprised a young doe, then later a grumbling Turkey hen, and while sitting by the pond in late afternoon saw a Heron and a Pileated Woodpecker. The land is generous. We are home.
