Big Snow: Show Postponed until Saturday December 21st

The ten inches of snow heading our way made a postponement a wise decision.  Catherine Redmond/ Painting on Paper and Canvas will open Saturday, December 21, 2013, from 2 – 5 pm at the Elizabeth V. Sullivan Gallery in Sparkill, NY, an hour north of Manhattan.  This is the Artists’ Residency Program of The Art Students League of New York at Vytlacil where I am a Visiting Critic this year.

On July 17th I met a group of select retreat residents at the Vytlacil-Sparkill colony high on the Hudson.  The impressive group of talents were clearly able to work in beautifully sited and thoughtfully designed live-work studios.   This competitive program offers silence and support, the two things that artists yearn for.  It was a perfect day.
