My print is included in Ambient Light: A Natural Luminosity which opens tonight at the MPLS Photo Center in Minneapolis from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. If you are in the area I hope you can attend and appreciate the way artists see and think about light. The glow from the screen has its unique qualities so unlike sunlight as to suggest things alien and chilly to humans. This reaction must be built into our DNA from thousands of years of our sensitivity to the cycle of the sun, the moon and then fire. Light tells us almost everything, but most important for me, is what Alan Gussow called “a sense of place”. Ambient Light is on view until the 13th of October. A catalogue is available.
