Before the Morning Glories Awake, 2016, Archival Digital Print

I am learning how the birds change species through the year. I hadn’t heard the Ravens in a month and a half and now they are talking again. Where did they go? What were they doing? Will they remain? The young doe with the limp whom I saw several times in June crossed my path yesterday before daybreak as I was driving to the train. She’s larger now. I worry that she’s easy prey for a carnivore, coyote or human.  She is always alone.  Does she feel an outcast or happy to be a hermit?
